Mental Health First Aid Certification
Be prepared to support yourself and others with Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification, Canada's leading evidence-informed mental health training program. This interactive two-day course provides practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to recognize signs of declining mental health, respond to mental health and substance use crises, and connect individuals with appropriate supports until professional help is available.
Through engaging discussions, real-world scenarios, and the ALGES action plan, participants learn how to approach someone in distress, communicate non-judgmentally, provide reassurance, encourage help-seeking, and practice self-care. Whether you're a student, staff member, faculty member, or community member, this training will help you reduce stigma and become a valuable source of support for those around you.
Course Format: 12 hours of facilitated instruction delivered over two days, in person.
